Grief and Loss
"Pain changes people"...How true this is. This post is undoubtedly one of hardest things to write. It is a continuation and update in response to one of my first blog posts "Never have I dealt with anything more difficult than my own soul". This post starts off talking about depression and mental/psychological illnesses, a subject that is rarely addressed within our society and often overlooked. I have been living with this "Nightmare" called depression for 4 years now. Over

A Broken Heart
I want to express my joy and appreciation for all of your patience while I took a temporary leave from posting any imagery. The reason is because I wanted to direct my full attention to completing and finalizing a personal project that has been quietly in the works. I have remained silent about any details regarding this project until I decided to release it. I made the decision to release a large amount of my imagery in the form of an essay which is a continuation of my last

Kelowna Stands with Standing Rock Rally
On November 6th 2016, residents of Kelowna all came together in support and show of solidarity of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe of North Dakota, as the tribe attempts to stop construction on an oil pipeline. The $3.8-billion Dakota Access Pipeline is intended to carry oil from North Dakota to Illinois. The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe says the pipeline will threaten its drinking water and cultural sites. Protests and Rallies were held across the world to show support for the Tri

The Yellow Sundress
While attending Centre for Arts and Technology for the Digital Photography course, one of our first projects was to create a stop motion film. Stop motion is an animation technique that physically manipulates an object so that it appears to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a fast sequence. This film titled The Yellow Sundress was created

Metis Commission For Children and Families of BC Fall 2016 Gathering
I had the amazing chance to photographer for this event in Kamloops hosted by Metis Commission for Children and Families of BC. Various Metis organizations from across British Columbia all came together to promote each of their organizations and the work they do for Metis Communities across BC. They also had the opportunity to learn from each other and give advice on how to better their organizations and the services that they provide to Metis people. It was an honor to be pr

Metis Commission for Children and Families of BC AGM 2016
I am so excited to share images from this shoot. I Had the amazing opportunity to attend The Metis Commission for Children and Families of BC Annual General Meeting hosted at the Ramada Inn Hotel here in Kelowna. This group is a non profit society which aims to bridge relationships between communities, services and government to ensure cultural safety for Métis children, youth and families. It was truly an awe inspiring event full of warmth and laughter, dancing and singing.

Liberal Victory Fundraiser
I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Liberal Victory Fundraiser as a photographer.. The event was hosted at the Cedar Creek Estate Winery in Kelowna and our Canadian Minister of Defense Harjit Sajjan and Kelowna's MP Stephen Fuhr attended. It was an honor to be in the presence of a true Canadian hero, it was an even bigger honor to be able to meet and photograph him as he spoke and interacted with people. Here are the photos from the afternoon, I hope you'll enjoy them

Alberta Bound
I've lived in Kelowna for 4 years now. I originate from Peavine Metis Settlement based in Alberta. (Fun Fact, Peavine is one of the 8 Metis Settlements in the world and they are all based in Alberta!) When I first moved to Kelowna, I was unable to make it home as often as I would have liked to but over the last 2 years, I've begun to travel back and forth more often. As much as I love Kelowna, I eventually realized that no matter what I'm going through or where I am, Alberta

Tribute to The Red Dress Project
When I first heard about the REDress Project for Missing and Aboriginal women, I knew I wanted to create a tribute to it in support. I went to the closest thrift store to find a red dress to work with. The one chosen photographed beautifully while still maintaining a tone of innocence and femininity. The idea of the REDress project is to draw attention to the plight of missing and murdered aboriginal women here in Canada in hopes of reducing the numbers and statistics of viol
